For the Isle of Wight festival, We are still open! Over the last couple of years because of the re-routing of the traffic for the festival, we seem to be forgotten about, but this blog is here to tell you, we are still here! and are within walking distance of the festival.
We also offer or camper van/motorhome pitches for day or whole long weekend ( unfortunately traditional camping isnt permitted), in 2025 we had 4 vans stay with us are were quite shocked when we told them its within walking distance which saved them some money or the huge cues the buses create.
Our prices:
£25 per night or £100 for 5 nights day ( Thursday morning arrival from 9am to Tuesday day time departure 12pm ( noon) at latest. This is payable either by cash or card on arrival. The 5 night stay option will allow you a 10% discount on your total bill if you eat or drink with us.
Deposit - £25 deposit is required to secure you booking and pitch which is only refundable up until a month prior to the festival, this is payable over the phone by card when confirming the booking. If you end up following through and staying with us, your deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay with us subject to inspection of the pitch ( previous years we have had burn marks, rubbish left and damage)
Amenities
A water tap is available which is connected to the pub and can be used to fill up external water carriers, For water containers which are inside your campers, we can connect as hose and extend it fill it up next to the pub on the gravel carpark which you can then drive to your pitch. We do not have electric or gas capabilites.
A general waste black bin bag container and food waste container will be provided for communal use. However we do not have capabilites for human waste disposal but the pub toilets are available to use from 9am until approximately 10pm everyday of your stay with us.
There is a tesco and corner shop up the road if you need any shopping to cook yourselves some food on board your campers. We will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you would like to eat with us also. ( breakfast is unavailable Sunday and Monday morning due to deep cleans of the kitchen)
Terms and conditions:
This is a quiet campervan area so we ask any loud music or post festival partying cease at 10pm. We dont mind conversation over a few beers and wine post festival but we ask to please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and to be mindful of other campervans users and locals.
No BBQs of any kind are to be used.
No camp fires.
No litering.
Finally, we reserve the right to shorten your stay if any inappropriate behaviour occurs towards other campervan goers, staff or locals, this includes any criminal damage of the facilities. The deposit is non refundable at this point. ( this is based upon previous years where a group of people staying with us had far to much to drink, started a domestic fight which then upset other campervan users which then resulted in an assault, we don't stand for it)
This is family friendly, as its a quiet zone; it's not recommended for people who want to carry on the party once the festival kicks out. We have alot of elderly living around us and would like to respect the right for them to finally having some peace after a day of music and crowds from the fesitval.
To book, you can send us an email on info@woodmansarms.co.uk, we will need your full name, contact telephone number and we will call you to discuss and take the deposit over the phone which will secure your booking.

Once set up....The walking route to the festival, you have two options....

As you can see from the picture, the "blue" route starts opposite where the steam railway entrance is... there is a bus stop and behind the bus stop is a continued route for a bridleway. This is the safest option, you dont have to walk down any roads where cars are or no pavements, just a straight shot and you'll come out where the parking and start of the campsite is.
The other route (marked in red) which is 5 minutes faster, if to walk towards the Briddlesford round about, take a right down park road, and then join the bridleway half way down park road, although this is faster, it does have its hazards as park road is where the traffic is directed to join up with Lushington hill then to the racecourse for IOW festival car parking.
So, there you have it! dont fancy walking all the way into Newport for some home cooked food? you can always make a quicker journey up to see us and enjoy what we offer in our lovely sunny beer garden.
